Dancing Girl

 

 

Addison has always loved to dance.  Ever since she was little she has been moving and grooving.  It started with the shoulder shake, and then once she was up and walking it was the booty shake.  Now, she just spins in circles.  It's really pretty funny cause she just keeps going until she falls over, then gets back up and keeps going.  We are loving how this little one is growing up and showing us her personality!

So, as I am sure most of you have noticed by now I have not been blogging lately.  As I would love to continue this, alas I have no time.  I realized with starting my own business, working, and taking care of Addy and my husband I needed to give up something.  This was that something.  I will continue to do small quick updates on facebook.

 

Addison's Dedication

We decided that Jesse's first Father's Day was a perfect time for Addy's dedication at church.  Our church only does baby dedications every two months or so and their last one was on Mother's Day.  Unfortunately I was out of town on Mother's Day, so we thought that Father's would be a great time to do it.  So during the church service our pastor invited us up on stage and introduced us and Addison.  Then he talked about the responsibility that God gives us as parents.  He talked about how this dedication was us asking the church to be a part of Addison's life too.  Then he prayed over our family and Addison.  It was special because we got to spend Father's Day with my dad and my other two brother's who are now dads too.

We had a birthday party for my younger brother today as his birthday was last week and they came to town for the weekend.  This was the first time that we had all 3 of the cousins together!  It was so fun!  It just so happened that Miss Addison turned 10 months old today and little Ella turned 1 month old today.  It was a beautiful evening out and we had a nice bbq.  My nephew Calvin got a new strider bike and he calls it his motorcycle.  He has the sound effects and the wrist throttle to go along with it :)  He rode that thing all over the culdesac and the yard.  He loves it!  He is always asking if "Adsin" can play with him, or do this or that, it's pretty cute!  It will be so fun when they can actually run around and play together!!

9 Month well baby check

We went to the pediatrician today for Addy's 9 month well baby check.  We definitely have a very healthy baby on our hands.  The Dr. was very happy that we have been able to avoid any colds or flu so far this year.  He was also very impressed with her progression on solid foods.  Addison has rolled over now and then, but just doesn't like being on her tummy very long at all.  He noticed how strong her legs were and said with the way she is going she will probably just end up cruising/walking soon. We did find a small bump on her head a little smaller than the size of a pea a few months ago.  We asked him about it today.  He said it is most likely a pilomatricoma, a benign calcification/tumor.  He said at a young age it is nothing to worry about, but as she becomes an adult there is a small risk of it becoming cancerous.  So we will be keeping an eye on it just to make sure that it doesn't grow.  Sometime in the future we will probably have it removed.  So here are her 9 month stats:

Height - 30 inches - 98th percentile

Weight - 23lbs. 11oz. - 98th percentile

Head circ. - 18inches - 89th percentile

I can't believe that our little girl is already 9 months old.  On the day that Addy turned 9 months we had another beautiful little bundle of joy added to our family.  My brother and sister-in-law adopted a baby girl, Ella Grace who was born on 4/19/12.  She is an absolute precious beauty and we are so excited to have a girl cousin for Addison!  The Lord has truly blessed our family!

Easter 2012

We had a wonderful Easter celebration this year. We felt Addy was a little too young to do an Easter basket for this year, but we will do one next year. Jesse's parents sent us a little stuffed bunny for her though and she loves it. We spent the afternoon at my parents after we went to church. Addy's cousin Calvin loves her and can't wait to see her and play with her whenever they come to town. He was so excited to see her. It was pretty cute! Jesse also had four days off work this week, so we got to have lots of family time all week long. It was so nice! We had some small projects to do around the house, so we worked on those too.

My favorite picture of Addy! My sister-in-law and I went to a trunk show for the Matilda Jane clothing brand this last week at a little boutique/used clothing baby store. We were the only ones in the store at the time as it was near closing time. We did a little shopping and I decided to try a few of the adorable outfits on Addison. The owner of http://www.facebook.com/PoshToppings grabbed her camera and took a few snapshots of Addison, and this one turned out amazing! She makes these adorable flowers/headbands! I think she just captured Addy perfectly in this shot.

7 Months

Our little girl has hit the 7 month mark. She is now over half a year old. It seems like she is growing and changing every day and I love it. This post is just now getting posted because I haven't had much free time over the last few weeks. I was working extra because we were so busy at the clinic. Then Jesse left for Vegas for 5 days, so I have been on my own this week. It wouldn't have been too bad, but Addy decided to cut 4 teeth this week while Jesse was gone!! I am finding that she doesn't handle her teething very well. She is VERY clingy and doesn't sleep well, so by now I am a little delirious :)

This little girl is the light of my life! She is absolutely the most precious and sweet little thing. Her giggles and smiles just make my day (even when I am exhausted). Overall she is such a happy girl and always gets comments from strangers on her smile and adorable chubby cheeks!

Odds n' Ends

So, I have had to do some soul searching lately. I absolutely LOVE my job. I love what I do. But I cannot do it forever, my body won't let me. My body is healthy now, but I am not sure how long that will last for. This all started out when I was at a little boutique baby shop here in Spokane. I was looking at all the cute little baby items thinking, "I can make this". So I came home and started thinking... Then I went to the fabric store, again and again and again :) I couldn't help myself! I kept coming up with ideas. It was so much fun!

I made a few things for Addy in the process. She absolutely loves her pink "tag" blanket. She loves to play with all the different textures of the ribbons and snuggle with the softness of the material. Then of course I like putting all the hats and flowers on her. I am just starting to figure out how to do the onesies, so this is pretty basic so far. I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new sewing machine to start off this adventure. I get it next week, so then the playing really begins. I am thinking about selling my stuff on Etsy, but haven't totally decided yet.

So, to anyone who follows this blog, I would love your opinions. I am not looking for anything sugarcoated. Tell me what you think!! Please!
